Mere words can paint a landscape of mental imagery Where words arise in epic form escaping drudgery Mere words can comfort broken hearts when souls are racked with pain Where words of solace serve to bind the hurting song’s refrain Mere words can ease the burdens life causes us to bear And lessen pressures that we lift by simply saying, “share” Mere words can hurt, unfortunately, even when we don’t intend Those words are hardest of all re-called and seldom do they mend So, when by chance, the words you pen or speak this very day, Remember only this The choice, my friend, is yours and ere they fly away Please, speak not amiss Mere words do make a difference in each and every way [This message has been edited by steavenr (03-07-2004 06:37 PM).] |

Yes, words can build up or they can tear down. An interesting mix of forms here. *OOPS-- you must've edited since my post.* Grover. |

sorry, Grover...the first part was actually another poem I just finished writing and I accidentally copied from Word to here and didn't preview...sorry...and, yes, they were very different forms and moods |
