some will die behind yellow tape
for crossing double yellow lines
some will die on fire escapes
victims of their own design
some will go out with a bang
and the world will come to a halt
and some will go without saying a thing
their silence is always our fault
some will relinquish their hospital beds
to those with pulsing veins
some will return to the war half dead
just to save their friends again
some will die with no memory
of their taking and their giving
but each death will be a tragedy
until we learn to cherish the living.
when we grasp the mortal facts
that we only get one turn
the regrets of the dead will evaporate
will the world end before we learn?

joy has its own justice. and dreams are languid and lawless. and everything bows to beauty, when it's fierce and when it's flawless...

will the world end before we learn?

quite possibly.

again.. am enjoying your thoughts mtw.

Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder.

MTW

"but each death will be a tragedy

There is much wisdom in your observations of life.
