A shift in the restriction
Something too tight grips too deep
Disquieted and restless
Into nocturnal wander
The ranges broader…fleeting
Hallowed ground and garnet sky

Inside turns out, wild and ancient
Retracing silent steps…before
The grasses wet with tears of night
Cool and calmer than the prints imparted
Sounds of kin and spirits echo here
Inside…a savage place of fortitude and plenty

Seeing in the yellow haze
Stepping into wanton graze
To the summit of a fate and destiny
Caged too long in too little
Upon the granite bed be said
I am free

loved the imagery TD

"Seeing in the yellow haze
Stepping into wanton graze
To the summit of a fate and destiny
Caged too long in too little
Upon the granite bed be said
I am free"

I saw and felt this, colored in Vincent's yellow.

this is such a well-written poem...your word choices are exquisite...I especially loved this line:

"The grasses wet with tears of night"

that one jumped out at me...very nicely done
