Uncertain of face or number As he looked through a puff of smoke Yet somewhat satisfied that he was on flight To continuing his streak. Nothing was between but a single hand Held with fear of what wasn’t. You can raise says the dealer As he winks to the waitress passing. Another round for this here gentleman. Determined to keep despair from his face He folds in uncertainty. So it goes he was dealt a face. 52 times he had a chance A brief look at the thinness of separation. You had it in your hands If only you took that chance Explains the dealer of fate As he draws again. Please check out my poetry online www.soakgame.net/mrlawrencesmalls |
