Hippy Dust and Rainbows Walking hand-in-hand among ROY-G-BIV mist, i felt the delicacies of light refracting prisms kiss; hippy dust and drops suspended in times geodesic archway. We'd walked mind-in-mind over telephone lines of little need- had telepathetic hi-ways, reviewing inventions mindways. I wanted to give a little background info here, instead of with the poem. I tried it there and it was distracting. This poem was written about a very dear friend, who upon learning my dad died, immediately quit his job and moved a few hundred miles to help my mother and me out through the worst winter in Ohio. Friends like that don't come along that often-I've been extrememly fortunate to have had several. Sometimes in March, the month of leprechauns and rainbows, my heart still whispers a thanks. (As I re-read this this morning, I read into it possible room for mistinterpretation. Perhaps, clarification would be in my best interests...this in NO way has reference to drugs-I think there may have been a word that might have a connotation of that nature. If it does make that suggestion, it is purely accidental and does not represent my friendship or usage! I choose not to change the word, however, as its imagery is important to develop the rest of the poem.) Sadie [This message has been edited by Sadelite (03-04-2004 10:10 PM).] |

smiling wide, Sadie. I read this before your explanations, and thought what you thought I might think. (Being Roman, I thought it was about Rome, heh, heh.) I like the idea that you capture actual wonder instead of a momentary, and false sense of--oh sigh, serenity. (sometimes I hate my choice of user name) Enjoyed this, and enjoyed it more with the explanation(s). |

(big angel hugs) Awwwwwwwww, this made me smile, sweet friend, you are so lucky and blessed to have such a caring friend who would go any mile to make sure all is alright! (smiles) I love the hippy ideals soooooo much and with the exception of the drugs, which I consider what truly ruined the revolution, believe that hippys are the best in expressing what it is to use your freedoms and creative energy and harmonize to one another as a free-spirit! (sigh) I yearn for the reincarnation of the hippy movement, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sadelite, thank you for sharing!
