The Lady and the Traveler Unannounced and unexpected He suddenly showed at her door; The Lady – she was well respected And was good-natured to the core. She asked him of what help she may Hence offer to the weary lad – There he should rest; perhaps should stay – She never knew he could be bad… With gratitude he thanked her tending, Then politely took her claim – For his journey had no ending All roads to him – were all the same. He spoke to her of gloom and dread Depression was his only state – But the Lady she just smiled and said: “Sunshine is my only Fate…” The Lady and the Traveler Together in the House of Life – He and She – each storyteller Of Life’s endless joy and strife. His journey resumed on the morrow, But now no more a lone affair – Where he is – she soon will follow – For she is Hope – and he Despair. CastleGuard |
