I, in stare Knew depths of sky flat to feel as rolled stock blue, paper thin, Allowed to simply fool eyes Into thinking there was more beyond The cold touch of winter’s bowl Than mere truth of physics allowed, In despair, I have lit a torch Holding it to edges of this hue Wishing flames to catch And warm in me something Other than the burn Of empty Today I search For the wrinkled folds Where night and day crumble sky To begin again the fumbled find Of match For I would burn this The hateful winter’s sky [This message has been edited by Cpat Hair (03-02-2004 11:17 AM).] |

Spring is in the air my friend...and I've even heard we're getting another snow storm next week, and yet, to no avail...spring in all her stubborness and glory will eventually arise. Lovely write |

Ron...You expressed that need for warmth so well...it's even been wet and gloomy in California. As always, you write so well!! Warm hugs! |

thanks all... appreciate the comments.. it's more than winter here.. one could substitute summer for winter in this piece and it would still say what I wished to say... but yes.. Spring is around the corner..and the days now longer grow warmer.. I am always happy to see that. |

Hello Ron, You are still the master at capturing that essence of the inner ache. This is stunning. Missed reading you. Corinne |

Thankfully, yes, Spring should arrive on time this year. (besides, I've just put in the last of my wood) |

Tried to pick a favourite line Sir, but couldn't for I love them all. Excellent as usual M Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder. A soulful write, Ron. I felt the chill of a failed love's memory, one that whose touch should have left you warm, but somehow failed. Or is this really just about winter? LOL (and the lotus you imagined was the inspiration for that write, LOL) |

"In despair, I have lit a torch Holding it to edges of this hue Wishing flames to catch And warm in me something Other than the burn" If the weasel had just sat quietly, while you wrote...he would still be with us today. |

Ron, I really enjoyed this and certainly do feel like mocking the sky myself, but right now the Mocking Birds are doing that for us. They start up about 11 p.m. and go on all night long! |
