Snow falls slowly, gently i fly above the white carpet. Black are my body and wings, free i may be as freezing cold wind blows. Dead animals lay in the cold snow, i land close to their stiff bodies. Still open dead eyes stare out, i peck at the exposed eyeballs and feed off the unfortunate. Dark skies with blown snowflakes blast my face, but raggedly i fly and feed on the dead. Calling, crowing in the white sheeted fields. Exposed to the cold new morning, death is our companion, we eat exposed animals. Slowly, silently we fly above houses, black hearts, black eyes watching. Our old souls were bad, and so we live with these rencarnated souls, mysteriously dark souls. We scavenge, our black hearts will forever search, but my heart once knew beauty. Muted....scavengers are needed in nature..they are natures cleaners...they play a vital part....but they are uniquely beautiful too... Thank you for your kind reply.... You know...it's odd that you should post something about crows. And very well done might I add. Odd I say as just the other night I was gazing out the window and thought to myself, "those can't possibly be leaves atop that tree this time of year", when all of a sudden in one rush, families of crows flew off as one.
