I hear the rumble, roar, of pain as anguish streaks across the sky and then the rain falls down to ground to flood the earth with memories. And I would imitate your ways alone one night to clear my mind and flood the floor of my abode with water from my soul’s heartache. Instead I turn to look and learn to see, to hear, to feel the fear thick and dark and heavy, hard, within, around, above, below. And so I know the sight, sound, taste, but I can’t move to left or right until one night, perhaps tonight, the wall of knowledge cracks and breaks. Contained within fear overcomes the will to hope of knowing love and as the rain clears dust from earth so too one day death brings relief. Alone tonight I hear the rain, the rumble and the roar of pain! Helen |

Helen You paint such beauty into the ache of life, or is it you paint such ache into the beauty of life....either way, you are a marvelous poet! |

Thank you all for reading and for commenting. When we ache, we can't see the beauty of life but nothing lasts forever and I'm wondering now whether that includes the beauty of life. Maybe that is the only permanent thing and for that I give thanks in spite of the rain and the pain. |
