Maintaining a Certain Room

The corners are the hardest spots to clean.
Whatever was neglected all this time
Has gathered in the darkened space between
The furniture and walls, creating grime
That can't be cleaned in ordinary ways.
A simple skimming over with a mop
Will make it worse--it turns to gunk and stays,
Until I take the proper steps and drop
Upon my knees, a tiny brush in hand
To grind away the dirt. The built-up mess
Will break away, unable to withstand
The steady scrub; the firm, insistent press.
It's easier to hide it with a chair
So no one sees, but I would know it's there.

so often no matter what it is that remains hidden is still known by self. very good write.
