Oceans have swirled over me as great waters caressed the soul. And from a gentle sway did briefly come the wanted peace. Sails once furled now billow the winds as rivers flow against the lee. Masts strain toward a course.. Rocking lazily. Ship the oar and steady the helm, a shallow sea awaiting. Keep the eye in wary watch, never abating. A lighthouse whispers of a path, beyond the ragged shoals as a hand of brilliance sweeps reeds dancing to a zephyr’s tune. Red sky at night... Sailor’s delight Red sky in morning... Sailor take warning Red skies await the morrow’s morn as a breath is held... and the wait goes on into the still of night.. awaiting the dawn. Your beautiful poem awoke my muse. Thanks for that....I was beginning to think she'd abandoned me! A distance lattern on the hill flickered like a star signalling to the Captain he wasn't very far. In the salty mist of March The Moon began to dance Behind the rocks and and scarlet clouds Awaiting her sweet Prince. And as She disappeared from sight Past on beyond the sight of man The ship weighed down its anchor, The Captain walked on land. He searched the ilse for sign of life. It grew towards eve but nothing found. He watched the sun touch the ground. Then from behind a cloud She peeked. His lady wearing silken gold. Her garment new, her spirit old. He longed to touch her silver hair. He had the ship, but not the fare. And so he gazed upon her charm, Trusted she'd enchant his dreams, And warn him of the morrow's morn Or call him up in scarlet storm. |
