I drift among them where heaven is but a wink away i'm annointed thru the patches left by their leaves that wander now they fawn sleep appearing stiff and arthritic who'd ever think they could bear life again? they become my tunnel vision as i drive this lengthy highway where they give all but a few glimpses of sun and sky they begin to seize my identity yet i can hear the echo of god as i slip between them come the night,I find myself again in their kingdom againt the snow topped mountains their black reflections offset in a pool of moonlight with the catalyst of wind and child's imagination they dance and touch again overcoming the guise of detachment from the parallel paths they line along the roadsides their dance just a mere confirmation of their hearts and souls interwoven way beneath the gate of earth where they lock paths on pure faith to endure all that befalls them i remember when i am with them how i once lived free and fearless filled with faith, and innocense starryed with awe [This message has been edited by inkedgoddess (02-21-2004 10:05 PM).] |

Thanks for letting us stow-a-way while you ran the gauntlet of trees and revisited man's endless thirst for faith in renewal and his eternal seed of mighty hope. |

"their dance just a mere confirmation of their hearts and souls interwoven way beneath the gate of earth where they lock paths on pure faith to endure all that befalls them" Loved this passage! Also, I think this is your very best yet! Loved it, liked it, admire it! |

Beautiful poetry..... Especially here> "they fawn sleep appearing stiff and arthritic who'd ever think they could bear life again?" and here> "with the catalyst of wind and child's imagination they dance and touch again overcoming the guise of detachment from the parallel paths they line along the roadsides..." The last stanza is very good, it brings the poem around full circle... My kind of poem, enjoyed it very much... _______ice ><> |
