Picture by Jim Warren * * * As the sun begins to rise And a brand new day is born I watch the dolphins ride the waves In the hours just past dawn I stand tall just like a sentinel And help guide the ships to shore As the waves lap all around me I hear the mighty ocean roar The sea has become angry As lightning cracks the sky The seagulls look for shelter As they struggle so hard to fly I'm at the mercy of Mother Nature So many storms I have endured The ocean is a temptress Many fisherman have been lured The sea, it is so treacherous Many boats have not returned The mighty sea should be respected There is so much still to be learned In the quiet of the evening Long after the storm has gone I'll listen to the humpback whales As they sing their mournful song I am in motion |

There is nothing as awesome as the ocean. I really enjoyed reading this--and your wisdom washed over me in each stanza like a new wave. Shenachie |

(big angel hugs) Oh Sue, I believe the ocean is for all the siblings of us, all the other wonderful creaturs He created, and we should respect it and keep travelling across it to a minimum! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is beautiful, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "You'll find something that's enough to keep you |

Oh how I would love to go whale watching one day. This poem instills tranquility when read...like the soothing, steady lap of the waves. Well done. Now what about that picture...DEVINE. I spent much time looking at it, enjoying the artist's ability to convey pure relaxation and happy dreams. McLean |

Wow, you talk about a guiding light. Sue, you really made that lighthouse come alive. What a special gift it is, when it’s heart and soul reaches out to those in need, picks them up in her gentle palm, and brings them safely home... Another one of my favorites of yours! Richy |

Thank you all for you fabulous comments. That picture is one of my favourites and as I didn't have a picture of a lighthouse I thought that was second best. Take care.......Sue I am in motion |

Sue: I loved this poem! I find lighthouses so fascinating and have toured many of them along the Western coast of the U.S. Some of them are supposed to be haunted and I can believe it after going through them. They are in a class by themselves, just like your poetry! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |
