Terry Cloth Heart |

Naked and wringing wet with Little hope to dry, White terry cloth heart, saturated, No more room for cry. The muscle strength in wrist and fingers Wrung the cotton with last ditch might. Patterns rang of echoed drips becoming Scintillated drops in morning light. A breeze of hush brushed raw cheek With flects of sunshines warming heat. Emerging steps to fresh outdoors, To hook soul on clothesline, bittersweet. Air of lilac skirted under Fabric warmed and dried. Looping threads had hardened, Softness gone, died. The wing-ed stiff flew from line To a muddied mire. Later unburied by a treasure hunter, Who laundered it, Fluffed it in the dryer. [This message has been edited by Sadelite (02-21-2004 07:20 PM).] |

Ah!! I love this metaphor. beautiful and realistic look at love. True picture painted. Loved your word usage. I liked the last stanza. Well-written. |

(big angel hugs) This is soooooo beautiful, sweet friend, the ending made me cry with a smile as love can truly always be found no matter how dirty or stained ones heart is! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sadelite, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "You'll find something that's enough to keep you |

Endlessecho, I'm glad you liked the metaphors. I can blame them on my dryer that went on the blink. After about two weeks of scratchy line dried towels, I better appreciated my dryer! Sadie Marge, I loved your song-like greeting. You flatter me with your words! Thank you. Sadie iliana, I'm glad you liked the happy ending. I think it would have been a better poem if I left it hanging for the reader's imagination, but I'm a sucker for a happy ending, so I filled it in. Besides, I just had to find a way to use that scratchy dry towel feeling somewhere... |

Noah, Cry a smile...I like that! Thank you for checking this one out. I haven't had the time during the week to respond to many, if any--I really miss reading your poetry. I'll try to catch some of it and others during the weekend. Time has been scarce--probably I shouldn't even write my own poetry, but it is a habit! Take care. Sadie Grover, I'm glad you were able to read it and comment. I truly enjoy your work-it has a natural flow to it. I will try to catch up some on my responses during the weekend... Take care. Sadie |
