Pushing fingers down piano keys Faster than they wish to go, Maintaining the parallel To the 4/4 time we know. It seems all an alla breve race Between love and life Death and space… Plucked at eleven, Gone to heaven; A love at fifty Eyes still misty. Still, it’s been no difference In life’s plight Equal, just faster, but Still, much to ears delight. Alla breve |

iliana, Glad you think so. Did I tell you that L. decided to quit piano lessons? Her teacher is too good to let go so now, I'm going to take lessons instead--she's going to teach me theory so that someday I might compose. (I saw the word alla breve and it struck a poetic chord with me--just had to find a way to use it!) Glad you liked the poem. I'm sure you understood the depths... ~sadie~ |

passing, Is there a chance you can take it up again? It is very refreshing and therapeutical for me--it lets me pour out feelings I never knew I had until I hear them. If a piano isn't possible, perhaps an wooden Indian flute? Sadie |
