Samarkand Samarkand oh Samarkand I ram my banner in your sand Claim your Islands fantasy To aim my souls eternity I will this with a tender sigh An apple grown out Eden’s lie A lullaby that I would heir An imply of a loving dare I’ve searched the sea repeatedly Served my term of agony Worn the beads to fragile thin Cannot find the truth of sin. But I can wile in subtle style The Eden of my mind, an Isle And lay me down in token seem The echoes of a broken dream Allow my wit my esprit And I’ll allow your disagree |
