What Need What need while she is near is unfulfilled, And how complete this measure of content? What man but I hath been so sweetly thrilled, What woman better knows pure love’s intent? What love so fraught with peril ever thrived, And why should two deserve to be so blessed? This heart once dead to love is now revived, As tenderly her hands my heart caressed. In kindness then, she taught me how to love, As through life’s sad travails we slowly wend. Still greater yet this gift to wonder of, She taught me what it means to be a friend. To her I owe my joy, my love, my all, For in our love we’ve scaled life’s highest wall. [This message has been edited by David2 (02-14-2004 03:54 PM).] |
