Father I could leave you any time Leave you standing here After the pain you put me through All the hurt and fear I even thought you loved me Thought you'd understand Thought it was just a discipline With your heavy hand I learnt about your hatred Why you knocked me down I remember that night you ran my bath I thought I was going to drown The red sun sets before me The stars might guide my way Weeks on end, without a friend Struggling survival every day Why you beat me, starved me, stripped me, Why you threw me, kicked me, whipped me I don't know But you scarred me, you bruised me Forever I hope you're proud |

Very hardcore. It's a sickening thing to think about, but it happens to so many. Very strong piece. I enjoyed it. "Only God can judge me" Tupac Shakur |

Wow, this sounds like this came from your heart, and if so, i am very sorry. Too many children get abused, and it is sad. Some people cant even begin to imagine all of the horrible things that happen! I have never really been abused, physically anyways, but i have known people that have been, and it is sad, and so unreal, but wahts scary, is that it is. I hope everything is better soon! ~kissa~ **~kissa~** |

this is powerful poem and I almost didn't reply because I wasn't sure what to say. Here's what I want to say (assuming that this poem came from personal experience)... I have a very hard time writing about the things that matter to me the most. I fear that i wouldn't do my feelings justice with my words. You took something very emotional for you and put it into words and I admire that. It was a good poem and you should be proud of it. Jeremy Be it in the truest form, or a desperate lack thereof, fail not to understand that the inspiration is love. |

If you have personally experienced this then i am truly sorry. I can't say that I know what you are going through but i definatly feel for you. With every line i read my mouth dropped. This was truly amazing. It's full of emotion and it state the truth. Thanks for sharing this one. This will be one to go to my library. "Whatever you are doing, love yourslef for doing it. |

A very poignant poem with a very strong message. As you have done here, there is nothing better than talking to someone about the abuse for nothing will stop it quicker than a good listener's ear. Well done. Today I'm only moving clouds, tomorrow I'll try mountains. |

Keep screaming at the page....your courage will grow...you will heal...you will overcome...and we will be here every step of the way. you have done a wonderful thing by raising awareness...and by breaking a cycle. |

Thank you guys, really thanks. I'm happy that I wrote something that other people could understand and feel. Your comments really give me confidence, and I'm truly grateful for that too. x |

I know everyone has basically told you a lot of the same things...but I am very sorry. Your words hit me hard! I grieve for you if this is true, and your not alone. I admire your ability to write such feelings down. Its hard to do them justice someimes as someone already said. But you did it. Thank you. You gave me courage as well. ~Kassi |

This was a very strong poem, the poem touched me deeply inside. 'Cause I know or I knew a little child, about 8- maybe 9 years old. A little girl, who was abused of her father. (-sorry because of my bad english). You could obviously see that the child was abused because the girl couldn't walk! It maybe sounds funny, but she walked like a duck. She couldn't walk normally.. It turned out, that the child was abused of her father, and had problem with walking because of the abuse. -Now, the father is in jail, I think. Haven't heard about what happened to him. Hope he'll burn in hell. |

OMG-I'm not really sure where to begin...this poem was absolutly amazing...so deep, yet so simply written...I found myself chocked up reading the words on the screen but unable to turn away. Not many works of art can truly do that...for that in itself is an accomplishment. I have never had a father raise a hand to me, thoguh I have lived thorough some really rough relationships and this kinda hit me in the heart in regards to that...Keep up the amazing work...Look forward to reading more soon! *~*nessa bear*~* You can’t choose who you are Only what you will be Why can't you choose To let me be me...*~*Nessa Bear*~* |
