I want to be you my pretending only leaves me bitter after the fact everyone's friend and empty inside You come with your problems I help you endlessly...it's my lot in life to be there for everybody who is there for me?! They lean on me like a crutch who do i go to? I need someone to listen without interruption, without condemnation HEAR NOW MY HEART'S ONE DESIRE for companionship, for real friendship, and some type of mutual love..for happiness in life Selfless abandon i've shown proven beyond any normal capacity in MY friendship they've found the one thing i've never had the one thing i've always wanted the one thing i've always needed it's so sad but so true can't take it anymore! maybe i'm too nice, who knows? Nobody knows enough to tell me who knows anything about me and the experiences i've had? who even cares? given so much to others and seen nothing in return Will i get paid and dues in return? I so selfishsound selfish i'm only being honest maybe it's the plite of most people... for love and companionship everyone needs someone... ...i just have no one |

wow, it is so sad. I can relate totally. I used to be exactly like taht. It sucked, reeeaaalllly baaaad. I was always the one people came to with their problems, wich i really didnt have a problem with, but when i came to them, they either ignored me or told me to ask somebody that cares. Im not even kidding, somebody actually told me taht! That is actually when i stopped just being "everybodys friend" I chose friends that would actually be friends!! I hope you do the same. For yourself. ![]() ~kissa~ ~kissa~ **~kissa~** |

I think most people can relate to this on some level, at some point in their lives... It hurts to realize that the friendships you have aren't what you thought they were... that they are more one-sided than not. Unfortunately, many of us set ourselves up for exactly that...because in our sincere caring, and desire to be a good and loyal friend, we sometimes don't recognize how much we need to be needed... until one day, when all of our friends are 'okay'... and don't 'need' us... and we are left all 'alone' with ourselves and we end up becoming the one who 'needs'... and yes...it feels selfish...so, we end up kicking ourselves for it. Bottom line?...we can be the sincere and loyal friends that we want to be, without losing ourselves in the process..because the truth of the matter is...if you center your life around others, and ignore YOU?... then, eventually, you will have nothing left to offer anyone...including yourself... It's a difficult and painful lesson to learn, but while you're taking care of your friends?... it's so important to take care of YOU too... Sorry...didn't mean to go off into a lecture... smile... This one just hits close to home for me. Take care of you...and when you learn to love yourself and take care of yourself?... you'll be surprised at how many people you find who love you as much as you do... smile (Now...if I could just learn to take my own advice...grin) Very well expressed emotions here... nicely done. i wrote that about 2 years ago. i found it in some old papers of mine. it sounded so applicable to the whole "teen" aspect of this forum. it's probably the most unmetaphorcal, brutally honest thing i've ever written. probably the most unoriginal thing i ever will write. glad you guys could relate. everyone can relate in some way. |
