corner of sadness and sorrow on a street corner cafe, i sit with peace in hand, not quite knowing what to do with what i understand. the sky is dismal, a sure sign of sadness or pain, but people defy the warnings and run to splash in the rain. puddles from from the tears and houses are flooded with skin from those who scrape off old lies, memories of the way they have been. i sip on the drink that was made from the sights i've seen and places i've stayed for long, take this glass from me and drink it yourself, i cant stand the way this wine taste on my burned tongue. the words i've repeated in this incantation have seared my mouth forever and healing stares at me like it loathes my looks, i dont expect it to bring back the lost feeling. i'm ready to leave this street corner and move to another, one where i haven't seen all there is to see, a place where fairy tales flow and romance exists, a place that has a life planned out just for me. now im alone, but not lonely like before |
