As I examine the past, I remember those days, Days where life seemed to suffice. Now, Moments exist as mere memories, Wrinkles in time. Survive as an illusion, Worst of all, I ruined them. My actions destroyed all. You endured plenty, Decided wanted no more, I ended right where I began. All months wasted, I blame myself, Pushed you away, Me, me alone. I told you I could handle the pain, But . Feelings still exist, I subsist in fear, Fear of facing a lifetime of regret, A lifetime full of hating myself, Because I depleted it all, Cowardice reigns, For my heart shall never return,. The same heart I willingly gave. I love you, And if you don’t ever love me again, I understand….. I realize….. Why Forever I face a lifetime of regret. |
