writing as i go... frozen eyes shut hard against the winter glare winter's first tears cover all like a grace o'er a mutituede of sins. the purity in it is not so flawed by the specks of dirt left in my footprints. the blinding reflection of a face in the sky makes us squint- are we ashamed? ashamed of the mud and dirt we track around, spreading it to others houses and lawns. We can never seem to keep our imperfections to ourselves. this world used to be snowcapped, smelling faint of the perfection instilled in the beginning, but our self-destruction has turned the snow to slush and made embankments of perversity for all to play in. if only more of us could pray for the snow to return, for the purity to fall from heaven even when the sky is gray. maybe the sun will even come back for us to wroship and cringe at once again when we realize the dirt covering our shoes. kick off you boots and enjoy the cold for what it is, a sign that this world does not completely feel hell's heat yet. now im alone, but not lonely like before |
