Voices rise in anger; Careless words are said, Words you can't take back. Doors are cloesd, Tightly shut, Just like minds. Little crying children That no one seems to hear -- They still cry inside Ten long years later. Goodbyes are said; But not fully ment, For it's hoped things will change. Memories begin to fade; Like a soft summer sunset, Slowly at first. So solwly you don't seem to notice, Until it's too late. You cherish the few memories You have left, Mostly of happy days; Watching WWF wrestling on Sundays, Making angels in the snow. Having someone to look up to, Who you want to be like as you grow. Declaring at five, You'd marry Hulk Hogan; Or saying, "Daddy I Love You." Years have passed sence then. Now you feel so bitter, Yet you're not sure Who towards or even why. You never were close to your mother, Or at least you never felt that way. You never see your father. It feels as if You're all alone in this world. He was there for soo much; Your first words and steps, Your first scraped knee. Through the laughter And the tears, The joys And the fears. But yet he's missed soo much; Your first day of school, Your first year of doubble digits, Your first school dance, First boyfriend, First date, First kiss, And so very much more. He won't be there To teach you to drive, Not for graduation. Will he even be there To give you away? Nights of crying yourself to sleep, Calling out for him. But Years from now, Years ago, Throught out everything; He is still Your Daddy........ GOD's greatist gift is LOVE |

Great poem!! The first half really hits close to home with me, because my parents are getting a divorce and the used to yell at each other (now my dad's moved out). =( Right now I can't really see my dad because he's in a hotel room. It's hard. Great job on the poem.. Bye |
