My first post !! Here goes ! The house becomes a wrestling ring, And I can't do a single thing. First comes the thud, Something falls to the floor, Was it an accident, Does she deserve more? The make-up won't hide, the scars and black eyes, No matter how hard, she tries and tries. Once again she's "tripped down the stairs", People believe her, nobody cares. I watch every time, She takes a punch, When will she learn, Enough is enough. When will people, Finally take note, How many times, Will he grab her throat? They say you learn from your mother's mistakes, What should I be picking up on? How to hide, the flaws and fakes? Where has this tortured soul come from? Belinda Black Aged 14 ! Hope ya like it ! |

Belinda! You write incredibly well. But how tragic the truth. I've worked with woman like that as a social worker. I pray your mother finds the strength and self-worth to make the right choices. |

A extremely heart-wrenching write and all too familiar for many. Sadly some women never leave thinking they simply can't. The beauty is that their children learn through this to never repeat the cycle of being abused or being an abuser, hopefully! So well done, and so very, very sad.
