far away from home.

NO. LOVE.
i don’t need to dance or
cry or sing.
NO. BURNING.
summer leads into summer’s
firelight.
resisting all urges to
coil my cherry red
lips around your
masterpiece.
NO. OUTLET.
for electricity. i only
flew when you
went far away.
why did i have to go
after you?
why couldn’t you of
stayed?
never strayed from my
grasping hands, my
rolling eyes.
NO. NO. NO. STABILITY.
no rough skies.
no bounding ties.
NO. US.
…to call home.
call home.
tell them you hate making
decisions.
tell them i belong in a
desert with no strength
left to breathe.
DECIDE on me.
if you want me. i will float
away just as fast as
i drifted towards you.
every word screaming out
our pain.
OUR SOLITUDE.
forget those nights.

we were never right.
