This is a complete rant, so it may not make the most sense. Basicly I talked to my mom who lives in Nevada today and when I got off the phone I sat down and wrote this. Make all the pain go away Just make it disappear Please…I beg of you! Do not prolong my suffering Leave this daughter of eve n peace To lick clean her wound and repent her sins I’ve stood alone for so long Can I not have a bit of sunlight to ease my aching cold Just a sip of fresh water to quench the parched throat So many salt tears have made I entreat you! Leave me to my own oblivion Let my conscience act out its own penance My soul is weak and brittle from fighting My once strong barriers collapsed in ruin all around me My scarlet heart is shattered Why must you continue to torment me? Can I not have a moment’s peace, from this deafening silence with which you delight in taunting me? You are dead to me yet I see you next to me Please! Can you not just let me go? Or will you continue to hold on to me Until there is nothing left but a tight smile, a white face and empty eyes …admitting my defeat Because of you I laugh a little harder, smile a little more, and cry a little less |

wow. the only word I can use to describe this piece. Very well written and worded. I found it calming, yet in one line rugged and torn. I like this piece very much! thanks for posting! -Erica- |

Thank you two for your replies, I always enjoy hearing what people have to say and what they think about my work. ~Live and Laugh~ Because of you I laugh a little harder, smile a little more, and cry a little less |
