Somewhere along the way you learn...
promises are meant to be broken.
Actions don't always tell
when words were left unspoken.

The loss of time is a loss of passion,
you always yearn for what isn't there.
Though you might pleed with your eyes,
not everyone surrounding you will care.

Acting like the pain doesn't exist
doesn't mean that it's still not inside.
Like the bleeding red of a sharpie,
you're mistakes become hard to hide.

You learn no matter how hard you try,
you'll always be in second place.
You may win amongst the others,
but that one person won the race.

Betrayal is the best poison for defeat;
the world is so full of this hate.
Our life's one big Mardi Gras parade,
full of mask everyone creates.
