sincere; but the meanings sleeping behind it are fake. don’t you know how to calculate a broken heart? don’t apologize for not being poetic enough for me. my feet upon the hardwood floor don’t lie as i cross over this exit. and you’re closing your eyes but does it make it any better? blocking out the sun, but does it block out my tired lips: speaking words on top of words that will never (re-ac-h). your heart or somewhere in between. your eyes sending out useless messages in which i’ll never know what they mean. and it’s all true and it’s all real, but it’s worn out and you’re letting the memories fade away and slip through like weightless sand. the moon, the stars, it’s all a fantasy world, and wishing. these things will never come true. and i don’t think i would ever do, not for you. |
