The phone rings,
and my heart pounds.
Hoping that it might be you.

I pick up the phone,
but all I hear is the dial tone.
Where does this friendship lack.

We communicate so rarely,
I find myself missing you.
The time has come though.

That I have run out of,
time to even just say hello.
I do love you.

I call you,
leave messages.
But I never get yours.

Are we there yet?
Is this friendship over?
is all lost.

Don't assume too much. Okay?

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
