Dispel the insecurities
that keep me at bay.
My fears no longer restrain me
I won't waste Today.
Always waited for tomorrow
but it never came.
I kept playing by your rules
trapped inside the game.
You thought you had me figured out
but I have learned your art.
You thought I'd be your courtesan
but I won't play that part.
Surely there is something better
than what I've been reduced to.
Like the wind, the rain, the sunshine-
I don't belong to you.

I know, I know, bleh, another rant poem. But at least they keep the juices flowin'.

Thank you both for replying, it is much appreciated. The last two lines are my favorite, too, and a bit of revolution came when they formed onto paper. I'm glad you enjoyed
