Not my favorite, but after I talked to a friend about my "dad" I felt like I HAD to write something, tell me what you think!

Keeping this inside
Has been hard to do
But I’ve finally got the guts
To let the whole world know

How much you’ve missed
And that you didn’t care.

Is it that hard
To pick up a phone & dial
Just to say “Hey how are ya?”
Or is that a waste of energy?

Cards don’t cost a dime,
And you don’t have to put anything in it,
Just sign it “With love, from Dad”
Or is that a waste of a couple cents?

That’s been going on for 5 years now,
I guess when you hit age 8,
Love or attention aren’t required.

Well let me tell ya,
I’ve got 5 years to go,
And I’m giving you less,
To decide how important I am to you.

I think you’re hat plenty of time,
Or do I need to put it in numbers?
I can guarantee they’ll all be greater,
Than the number on that monthly check.

How can you not wonder,
What my life’s been like?
In your mind I know you’re asking
Am I still a good kid,
Or am I thee worst around?

Is once a year enough,
Or maybe none this time,
It wouldn’t bother me any
If I ever see you again.

But the best way to see you,
Would be the day in court,
When I request a name change,
Without any doubts at all.

I’m not going to be nice enough
To hold back how I really feel.
Not to tell them what a worthless person you are.

I think I might tell them,
What I got from you,
No, I mean what I didn’t get.

No calls,
No cards,
No gifts,
No care,
No respect,
No attention,
No love!

Good judgment comes from experience,
and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.

good vent. I totally know how you feel. my dad left when i was 8 and its been 10 years and it doesn't get better you just have to deal with it if you wanna talk hit me up
