I made the choice today
to be other than I am
To find another way
to be other than a lamb

I looked you in the eye
and burned all I wished to say
and looked away wondering why
it's always me who walks away

After all, my love was true.
The only problem I had
was that his was too
and his luck was bad

So again I smile and stand
and with a grandious bow
I'll wander away across the land
knowing his time was now

You'll never her my voice
as I cry out in vain
because the right choice
is often that of pain.

"and I searched your eyes for an answer
and shuddered at what I found there;
as my skin shrunk away from conclusion
that you lacked the strength to

Wow...that's really true.  Amazing job.  Unfortunatly, you hit it right on the dot, most of the time, if you choose what is right, it has pain involved. At least that's what I've come to find.  I really loved this, I hope you don't mind if I keep it?

One day u'll ask which is more important,u or my life. I'll answer my life and u'll walk away never knowing u are my life.

Glad your back and posting again Rich! I liked this poem, although it's really sad, it's very nicely written!

I really really love this. No one ever said that making the right choice would be painless. I actually wrote a poem about this a looong time ago. Yours is much better, and Im not just saying that.
This one's going in my library.

But Im comforted
by the fact that I can hurt inside
all I want to
without anyone ever knowing

Excerpt from a song: "You can take my breath away..."

Awesome.
