i. we all hoped he would uncover my lies. like no one could ever take me on. there was a passing of hopeful smiles. smiling; for me. promises; for you. ii. the initials cutting deeper than the initial attraction. your hand burning the flames onto my skin. fragile; those times were. un-silenced, i always showed you my battle scars. she can make it, she can make it through the fog. iii. dear black, please let us fade. so, i can stop remembering how it was. how we were, when the happiness was never this hard to make. iv. when holding my hands, they. she. he. would whisper, you’re so beautiful. don’t give her. time to drown. hand her a life preserver, make sure the boat is close by to sweep her up. up, up and away from where she thinks she needs to belong. v. i never got a chance to tell them that i never really belonged in the first place. |
