inside my eyes,
a pearly conscience of lies.

you said that once our connection
glues together our hearts,
there will be no fall.

but couldn't you see, the real
me inside the perfection.
like bubble wrap, the popping
sound will echo in your ears
forever.

don't turn around, don't face
your crowd. all you'll feel are these
misconceptions, all you'll begin
to see is your reflection in pieces.

lies are what hurt us,
love is what fades.

remember to breathe after you exhale.

Very good piece. Thought provoking, powerful. I especially love the last 2 stanzas. Good imagery here as well.
Thanks for sharing.

But Im comforted
by the fact that I can hurt inside
all I want to
without anyone ever knowing

all you'll begin
to see is your reflection in pieces.

I feel like this was on the brink of sounding cliche except for the few parts that made it different.
