My heart shakes With each beat, It bleeds, And burns, The same fire that Once gave warmth, Now leaves behind, Ashes of lost love, Why did I loose you? I don’t even recognize The love that once filled Your soul and mine, My dreams and hopes, In one instance, Were taken away, Stolen beneath my eyes, My barren heart, Has lost its clothing, A war broods now, Quietly I die, Slowly withering, No hope can sway me, No beat can make right, What a puzzle this is, Lost the love, But love never lost. I speak insanity. I write fantasy. I sleep reality. |

Wow, this is such a powerful piece. The first stanza really drew me in, but I think the 5th was my favorite. Im sure alot of people can relate to this, as I have. You described the feeling perfectly. Thanks for sharing, this is going in my library. But Im comforted |

"The same fire that Once gave warmth, Now leaves behind, Ashes of lost love," I liked that stanza...it just seemed to jump out at me. I think that this is a well written emotional piece. Keep Posting! ~Alli~ Happy Holidays! |
