Movies aren't good role models, I have established that. Yet, I have been taught by them. Movies and televison became my father When he wasn't, they were. It taught me that the hero always wins. The main character gets away with the girl. He always has the perfect lines, is set in the perfect spots. The perfect lines don't work. You can say things, so witty, that even you yourself are impressed. It doesn't work. The bottom falls out when you realize you aren't the main character in any movie. The witty lines are those uttered without sound at the table next to where the camera is focused. Your part is to look like real people having a conversation. No big action, no big drama. When the credits role your part is... "Boy at restaurant" "Man in park 4" You won't be remembered. It doesn't matter how it goes. As long as Keanu gets the girl, saves the world, ends the conflict. You were blown away in the explosion that nearly scrathed him. And you are "Explosion guy 2" And all I wanted was someone. We are silly in our youth. We try to find big battles to fight. Part of being older is learning the fight the smaller battles Put on your tie. Fall in line. It's not worth it. There is no real war to fight. Nothing in your backyard.
