We aren't allowed to say it. Or we are but we aren't allowed to mean it. Four letters to define so many ways to feel. And it falls out of my mouth like a stranger. Because I mean it. I don't sell stories out of the back of my mouth that roll off my tongue and mean less and less as they float through the air. We are too young, us bunch of post teenage children. And when will anyone be old enough to say it. Since there are commandments that say do it. And the meaning is older than time. And bolder than any of us. And as we both sat on my bed and my eyes bled out like I was dying. I meant it. Even if you or the world wasn't ready, I said it. And the wind from the ceiling fan blew it around the room. And for the first time when it got back in my head. I didn't regret it. And I never will. She would rather be dead than fat, |
