Someday long after the covers have shut out the cold and the curtains have shut out the world, she'll turn to you in a sleepy daze, forgetting that her heart isn't comfortable on her sleeve. Half asleep, she's twice as honest. Half asleep, she's wide awake. She'll wrap her arms around you, too tired to care if she's keeping you up. She'll say you weren't what she expected, just a thousand times more wonderful. She'll whisper in your ear everything that she's too scared to say out loud. She'll paint you a picture of the lifetime she'd gladly spend in your arms. She'll drift off only after making sure the last thing you hear is "I love you..." And you'll know that nothing about this is ordinary. |
