Brother
How could you do this?
Not once but twice!
I'm supposed to look up to you,
Can't you see that
Doing this twice
Has made my mind wonder
Whether or not I can respect you
For the choices you've made?
I would think you learned the first time
You were so ashamed,
And so were we
But everyone new it was a lesson in life
You did your duties
Only complaining once in a while
We all helped out as much as we could,
Me not as much, but I tried
You changed after it happened
Became a new person
At the beginning it was someone no one liked
Slowly you kept changing,
With my mind too.
I respected you again,
So how could you mess it up?
I was proud you were my brother,
We got a lot closer,
Both of use have grown up.
Then you had to ruin it?
What were you thinking,
Just a little celebration
For being clean two years?
I guess the lesson wasn't learned
And now you're in trouble
With the law and everyone here
You've made home life miserable again,
We can't do anything right
And always fight.
It's so hard to believe this,
I just can't see it.
I know you're young,
But I'm even younger,
And I already know better.
In a way I should be happy
That you've taught me this lesson,
Early in life.
I promise, I'll never
Drink and drive!

Yeah- my older brother (he's 23) just got his second DUI or whatever you call it in 2 years. It just really frustrates me b.c he was doing so well! So this isn't my best write, I just had to get it off my chest!

Noting wrong with having to get that off your chest.  Spontaniously written poems driven my emotionally charged thoughts or events are the ones I admire most!  To the pen from the soul, stoping nowhere in between!  Sorry to hear about your bro.

Like Rich said, sometimes it's just good to vent and get all your feelings out.  It sometimes can feel like a weight being lifted off of you...
I'm sorry about your brother too.
