i swear it was the chains that held me down, not
the fact that you left me alone on the coldness
of these crisscrossed shaped regrets.

it was so automatic, (the smile, your laugh).
slipping in between my fingertips, please play
my mix tape for me again.

stuck on rewind and backwards and in between,
i tried to dance throughout the heart break, smile
on top of smile like this was never my well
kept secret.

dirty hands mock me on the right side of the
mirror, sunshine streaming in around my blood
shot scars.

come visit me sometime when the hurt seeps
out onto the floor so you can see who i am when
the poison isn’t sleeping in my heart.

i’ll close my eyes while you count the rips, the
pounding of my heart will add to the excitement
of shedding this skin.

so automatic how no one really knows, suffocation
can be so beautiful when you don’t have a soul
to bring you to the surface.

so let me drown and please close your eyes so i
don’t affect you with my own acid tears.

As dark as this was, it connected with my darkened soul very well. Not an easy read, but much dark poetry isn't. Liked this alot. All the raw emotion and dispair seeping out from between the lines... toxic and intoxicating.
