I was talking to one of my friends, and she was telling me a little about a poem she was working on. What she told me brought all of this out.

Aren’t the silvery stars so lovely tonight?
We’re gazing up into the sky.
The hood of my car makes a seat nice and smooth
As we sit letting time pass us by.
Can’t you feel in your heart
How the night brings us peace
We’re watching the heavens
That let us release.
It’s been a long, lonely week,
But tonight I’ll be free.
Holding your hand as you sit here with me.

And I think that I’ll treasure
A moment like this
With the feel of your fingers
And an innocent kiss.
I can barely believe
That this night can exist.
I’ll always remember
A moment like this.

I know I’m a guy
So I’m some kind of fool.
I could ruin this moment
I have with my jewel.
I guess I’ll make do
With your hand laced in mine.
We’ll do nothing further,
Just letting stars shine.
It’s all right with me;
It’s the best we can do.
I’ll be content being here next to you.

And I think that I’ll treasure
A moment like this
With your head on my shoulder
And there’s nothing amiss.
We’re sitting here staring
Into night’s abyss.
I’ll always remember
A moment like this.

Kudos, Strider.  This poem made me have the first sincerely happy feeling I've had in a while.  Made me feel nostalgic for the happier, lighter side of love.  A truly beautiful poem, if I may say so.  I think I might have to use the ol' save to library feature.  Thank you, for helping remember what makes the pain and loss of love worth it all.
