That day we danced in clouds of dust. We were as pure as the songs in our hearts - as the summer we shared apart. I looked at you, in the shadow of a broken heart, and wanted to be near you. And we laugh now, because I had your life in my pocket. That night we lay amidst a shaded bedroom monlogue. As the darkness spoke, you fumbled for excuses to lay your arm around me. And I laugh now, because I would have let you anyway. That night I found love again. And I laughed, because I had been searching in all the wrong places. I believe that lovers should be tied together and thrown into the ocean in the worst of weather and left there to drownin their innocence |
