I used to think that you were beauty and that everything magical could be found inside of you and these opinions that I have formed over the past few years, have been more than a little naive. Lately, I've been waking up and realizing who you really are, someone who deserted me when the going got tough, someone who only came around when he needed an ego trip. And I would feed you those words that would make you begin to smile, and I would watch as you'd pick yourself up, never once looking back at me. I loved you more than anything, it was you who taught me about love, but did you also know that it was you who taught me how to cry? Sobbing till my heart would break, night after night questioning why, why you had to hurt me when all I ever did was love you. But still I must move forward, I can't keep living in the past, and though I'll always remember I'm also learning to forget. |

"but did you also know that it was you who taught me how to cry?" I like how that was worded and put in just the right spot. The last line made this poem outstanding. Good work! I really enjoyed this poem! ~Jess ![]() Kiss, n. A word invented by the poets as a rhyme for bliss. |

I can't keep living in the past, and though I'll always remember I'm also learning to forget. I loved those lines! Life is a moderately good play w/ a badly written thrid act. - Unknown |
