Gravity is a harsh mistress, Perpetually driving downward Only six feet down is there comfort We should be crying, But don’t mind that Drink some liquid happiness, Smoke some mind numbing lotus Killing us all the same… A nation of corpses, Searching for our coffins Down and down we go… One by one lowered into the grave A priest to say the last rites, Everyone is going to miss him One moment of sadness, Then alls forgotten Go back to your lotus and your inhuman happiness, I’ll go back to my gun Same result, Different ending….. -lance There is no peace among the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter and the laughter of thirsting gods |

I dont understand how this could have gotten to the bottom of the list with no replies. It was beautiful yet painful and is definately going in my library. Love it |

I've read a couple poems from you, and this one just slapped me in the face. It was very powerful, and insightful. I really liked the first line, which is very important to the "sucess" of your poem. Wow, well done. ~Lex |
