A hundred times, nay a thousand times I shout Unto the stars that shine in summer’s midnight sky, Forbid me not entrance beyond blackened walls to night’s redoubt Throw open wide your portals, lay low your parapets… deny Me not of what I seek, nay what I ache to fill, to sate As does the thirsty man want of wines to fill his chalice dry, to quench a parched desire of which one cannot explicate I seek to be the dark but yet it is luminaires of midnight’s sky That bar my path, prevent my transmorgification within night’s crucible To morph to darkness, to leave behind of which I detest, nay despise Deep inside beyond furthest depths of my eboned soul, lanced by midnight’s pull, And so I shout unto the stars, a hundred times, nay a thousand times I shout unto night skies. |
