Silence pierces me Consuming reality Pink sheets And rainbow curtains But mind black as night And heart red like fear Life no longer Plead to be free Death like mind Black as day Bleak Like me Knife pierce Blood lost Life fierce Life cost. |

I tend to have bouts of insomnia, and this reminded me of that. Just recently I came to the conclusion that I was fighting so much in my waking life to keep my tenuous hold of control, that just welcoming sleep seemed to me a small death. Not sure if that was your intent here, but that is what it reminded me of, and hey? It's late, and I'm in the Dark. smile... Enjoyed the poem and the thoughts it provoked. A nice acknowledgement of the darker cyclic nature of life. |

Hi Black halo-- this kind of gave me the Hitchcockian feeling... Like dial "m" for murder movie thingy. You know what I mean. Like someone trapped in their room, and scared what looms outside the bedroom door. I like serenity blazes interpretation MUCH better for sure, but this was my reaction to it. WOW. scary. Thanks for the goosebump chill to jump start my morning. I love a psychological thriller now, and then. SharaRose @-->-- Of sound, and speech let all lift the hearer! |

My thoughts on this one: the ravagings of the mind. "Pink sheets And rainbow curtains But mind black as night". The outside world is sunny, but the mind is disturbed. I loved the last four lines; they give the poem a solid ending. |

First, thanks for the replies, everyone! I always love to hear someone else's interpretation of my writings. I must say, however, that the last one I read is the closest. I actually have pink sheets and used to have rainbow curtains. :p I always feel like I live in such a bright, promising world, all my surroundings are beautiful but what's inside is almost a carcinogen. Like it is almost a shame to see such beauty defiled by what lives inside of my mind. Enjoyed the replies, thanks again! ~Alicia |

i liked the poem...i agree with everyone else about it, but what you say, about how your mind compared to the outside world is...i know what you mean. and i just want you to know...it doesn't have to be that way anymore. if you want to change, i know how. please e-mail me if your interested.
