They told me my pain was a cop out. That the cops would come after me, but their faces are smiling, because the men in blue don't know me. The faces of the hearts I've broken are black and bleeding, in turn their faces glow white as they stand above me and preach their righteousness, except we are all men. So what is heightened and what is lowered, and who decides my path, but me? So what of all my days when I suffered... oh yes they don't recall, so now as I recoil and try to explain, they recount their hurt as if its all new. Don't parade above me in a disgusting fury of height and power. I don't want you any longer. You down grade my self esteem with your supposed truth. I pity you. Though you laugh so quickly after the drop, you've forgotten that you no longer hold my heart. |
