I'm not up for this, this push and shove. Even those with no theatrics are the best of actors. We put on an act, its how we get by here. As we pull it on the buttons snag, but we wear this tattered clothing like its all we have. I can slide by you with a simple statement of compliance and on I go. But its not a place I care too much for. I mostly go and sit on the grassy knoll where the bottom of my jeans get damp and the skin around my knuckles starts to crack. Either way there's always a crack upon the porclein perfection of your smile. and I can't help but feel I put it there, and the dent in your words. When I was stronger I could sweeten your tea with a lot less sugar. But now you prefer one packet of sweeten low and that's okay I understand. My spoon sits rusting in the bowl of stale sugar. Artificial is easiest. That's why despite my nature I tell lies and your despise is like second hand smoke it injuries me more then you. Though you've had cancer longer then me I feel my lungs will fail first. There's no reason I'm oversleeping dreamin' my life away...I'm not sure if I'm still breathing so I'll put on a happy face |
