For Jessica, my daughter, my sister, my love Show me something i've forgotten Tell me how to love again Take me somewhere new To a place I can’t remember I’ve forgotten things I should retain My sense of self, yet you remain My woman, my tangible In a sea of dark, So shadowed so cold Fragile like the crystal glass Crumbles in my bloody hand Shards and embers dig down in To seethe to reap inside my skin I breathe because I must to see her I eat but I do not taste or savor I see her shaken, rage fills me Rip them all to see her happy But I don’t remember why I’m writing I don’t remember the flavor of life Only that bitterness That I cannot have her Only that breath that I try to hold Neither night nor day can give me purchase only purged dust on earth can avenge the worthless. |
