I am that violent distraction
that tearing sound in the silence
gnawing away at your sanity

I am that lightless void
that place where you hide
all your nasty mistakes

I am those bloody means
those damned hands that killed
when you were too weak

I am that which you despise
that which you utterly need
I am that which you can't accept

I am all of these
and I am you.

It makes me think of people with multiple personalities, how when a person can't deal with a situation or an issue, they create a personality that can. Was it meant to be interpreted that way?
